Frank Turley of Los Angeles was arrested this week for robbing the Desert Golf Course office owned by A. Van Aman. The 14 year old confessed after officers traced the theft, hid the currency under a rock, and was taken to jail for a short period before his mother arrived to take him home. The Van Amans, away for the weekend, left the money in the locked office with an employee. The boy claimed his mother sent him money by wire, a claim disproved by telegraph checks. The parents, formerly of Barstow, are separated. the father resides in St. Louis.
