On Monday the Lazenby Market opened its doors with one new line after merging the former Dillingham up-town store. The Dillingham shop joined the Blue and White chain, offering meats groceries and fruits and vegetables under one roof at competitive prices. The fixture changes allow quicker service for a growing trade.
Hinkley and Todd schools sent competitors to a Tarstow Field Day meet where ribbons are expected. Local visits included Hinkley residents hosting and calling on families in Burbank Santa Ana Barstow and Orange. Real estate curiosity arose with Redlands Realty Co visiting town and Stimmell leasing the old Dr. Dale place in Hinkley. Burneal McGowan is out of school.
A vehicle struck a pedestrian or object last week with ongoing effects noted by responders. Investigations describe damage to property and potential injuries, with authorities continuing to assess risk and causes at the scene and nearby medical facilities.
Captain J. M. Anderson aboard the Olympic barge anchors two miles off Hermosa where twelve large game fish were hooked Sunday and more taken Monday. A 20 pound yellowtail leads the catch as Capt. Cliff Garner’s live bait boats report barricuda bass and sheepshead also being landed along with yellowtail. Also notes traveler R. B. Hicks visiting Barstow and commenting on improved eastern business conditions.
Mrs Northup hosted her Bridge Club on Wednesday afternoon with luncheon at 1:80. First prize went to Mrs Beimer and the consolation prize to Mrs C B Williams.

Martin of Covina California who filed to complete purchase of desert land in section 4 township 10 north range 3 east at 8 1/2 B M under the 1929 act. Protests must be filed in duplicate during the 30 day publication period following the first issue otherwise the application may be allowed. First published April 28.
Board of Directors levies assessment No. 121 of one half cent per share on all capital stock payable immediately to J. J. Morris secretary. Unpaid stock becomes delinquent April 20 1931 and will be sold at public auction June 15 1931 at 2 PM to cover the delinquent assessment 5 percent penalty and sale costs.
