He urges customers to compare Rogers' prices before buying.
The Royal Arch and Blue Lodge report strong activity with three new members initiated at Friday night’s Royal Arch meeting and three applicants at the prior session. Barneville Masonic lodge expands significantly and invites visiting brethren to join when in the city.
The Summers Buggy Company reports collecting $2,140 in cash in a single day, saying they are the only firm in town to accomplish this during the current fall season. The firm receives congratulations for a strong showing in fall collections.
Last Thursday orders reached 14 buggies and 8 the next day. Requests arrive at a half dozen or more daily, keeping Smith behind despite his largest force. Production runs at 25 buggies weekly, far short of trade demand.
Two men, Ben Meadows and Jim McCullough, both colored, fought with knives and pistols late Friday afternoon in a cotton field near the Matthews property. Each was shot in the face, Meadows received wounds, and McCullough was badly cut. Doctors Clerk and Thurman treated them. They are recovering and likely to pursue court action once healed.
The Western Association met with County Line church at Liberty Hill last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Good crowds attended each day and the association was one of interest. Quite a number from Barnesville attended the services on Sunday.
Farmers are urged to bring cotton to the Barnesville firm offering full market price paid at weigh in. The ad states the price as eighty cents per bunch and notes bagging and weighing are free.
For two Saturdays J C Collier has shown a front window full of money. Last Saturday he displayed 700 dollars in bills which drew a large crowd. Collier is noted as an original advertiser.

New winter uniforms arrived yesterday morning by express. All officers must wear them on duty. Chief Willis and Deputy Carswell with Supt Bankston and Dispenser Evans will show in the new suits today, described as a handsome set of officers.

Gordon Institute music department is thriving under Mr Frank M Stafford’s leadership. Col O H B Bloodworth of Forsyth, Solicitor General of the Flint circuit, was in town yesterday.
Reverend J H England filled his regular appointment at Prospect church last Sunday. He has ministered on the West Monroe circuit for a year with churches in fine condition. He is highly regarded by his congregations, serving Prospect Tabernacle Lyle's Chapel Marvin churches.
Uncle John Chambers supplies fresh oysters twice weekly and offers orders on short notice. Customers can place an order for an oyster supper by leaving details with him.

The Baptist church concluded a protracted two week meeting last Friday. Dr W A Nelson of Macone led during the first week with mixed reception though a glorious work followed. In the second week Rev Wash Oliver and Rev J B Culpepper of Jonesboro with pastor Rev W E Perryclear conducted services, Oliver leading most of the preaching. Twenty members united by experience and several by letter. The gathering met with broad satisfaction among attending Christian people.
William P. Ridley assistant postmaster at Beeks Pike county appeared for a preliminary hearing before U S Commissioner L M Brewin on a charge of stealing one dollar from a letter addressed to Annie Jones and destroying the letter. He was bound over in $300. Post office inspector T W Jones secured the warrant.
