Captain John Clark McMichael, about fifty, died at his Atlanta home Tuesday morning after weeks of gastritis. A veteran, he served as a captain and was wounded several times. He built a career in Georgia journalism and business, including the Thomaston Herald and the Barnesville Gazette, and led the Christian Index in Atlanta. Funeral services were in Barnesville Baptist church, with burial by his mother in Barnesville.
