A wealthy Barnesville resident urges the Gazette to promote a park beside the railroad forks opposite the Institute. He argues that a visible beautified area would attract new residents, showcase the town, and provide a central place for citizens to gather, viewing it as sound business investment.
Sunday school at the Methodist church held a large Children’s Day program presided by Maj. J. T. Hunt and organized largely by Mrs. J. C. Porch. The service centered on songs with prayers scripture readings recitations and several addresses by local figures including Miss Annie Howard Ruth Hodges Prof. Carl Monk and Maj. Hunt.
Mr. J. H. Mott near Johnstonville says he has only about one fourth of a crop of peaches on his Elberta trees while neighbors with later blooming trees report two thirds yields. Despite the uneven harvest, the country will not be entirely without fruit this year.
Local report notes J C Middlebrooks, longtime respected resident, visiting Barnesville Monday after months away. His eyesight has deteriorated over about three years, a condition lamented by the county's people who know him.
Sunday services in Barn esville drew large attendance. At the Methodist church a children's service ran from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Rev. H. A. Hodges delivered an able sermon to a grateful crowd. At the Baptist church Rev. C. W. Oliver preached morning and evening while Dr. Brittain was in Griffin, and Oliver was praised for his strong sermon.
Miss Lelia Pattillo, a Gordon Institute graduate and Mor gan county teacher, has been selected from fifty teachers to lecture on spelling at the Teacher's Institute in Madison this June.
Col Thad E Murphey of Macon, formerly Barnesville, selected as orator for Northwestern Life Insurance Co annual stockholders meeting in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He will join leading speakers on the program and is expected to deliver a fine and enthusiastic address.

Mr Asbury Lambdin was badly hurt Sunday when thrown from his wheel during a Barnesville party ride near Milner. He suffered a serious back wrenching and was cared for and brought home by friends where he has rested well since. The incident is deeply regretted.
