A veteran merchant pledges a stronger sales push with year of experience and unlimited capital. He vows to win back customers and the trade by offering better inducements and ready cash payments for everything, asserting thorough business knowledge.
Walker Wright, 22, a pharmacist and son of Dr. W A Wright, died after a toe nail procedure in Barnesville. He reportedly took chloral to aid sleep, and despite ether spray and two hours of artificial respiration, life could not be saved. He married Mittie Middlebrooks and left a wife and infant. A funeral at the Methodist church was planned with Odd Fellows participation.
The first in a series of University extension lectures by Prof. Arthur Dunn of the University of Cincinnati was delivered to a modest crowd in the Normal department at Gordon Institute last Wednesday. Dunn presented views on the creation of man, tracing humanity's history and highlighting contributions from leading thinkers. He impressed listeners with his command of the subject and urged Barnesville residents to attend all remaining talks in the Gordon Institute chapel.
Deputy Ball of Birmingham brings Sam Palatka a Pole from Eatonton to Barnesville after Palatka allegedly described the Cahaba river bridge wreck that killed twenty eight on the Birmingham mineral train. Georgia governor issues requisition papers. Southern Railway and Louisville and Nashville offer 10000 reward for conviction.
Mr. W M Redding of Barnesville and Pike County died at his home near Liffey Springs after lagrippe. A Zebulon native, son of Dr C F Redding, cousin of Hon J F Redding, he led Zebulon Baptist Sabbath school for years. Funeral held in Zebulon Saturday with large attendance. Gazette offers sympathy to his family.
