In this March 24 1902 issue the Barnard Bulletin publishes a letter from the French Society responding to a previous report. The Dean urged improving conditions for plays but did not propose specific action. The severance of the two societies occurred by student choice.
The University feels the loss of Mr A M Day as a standout instructor among students. He resigns to serve a broader audience and enter a wider field of work, a move welcomed as expanding his service.
The article notes the election of Miss Jeanette Wick, age 26 in 1904, to the position of Assistant Business Manager. The announcement emphasizes her appointment within the business administration team of the organization.
Mrs Annie Nathan Meyer honorary member of the Class of Igor hosts a reception for the Class of 1905 at 801 Madison avenue with 1902 officers on standby. A farewell trip for 1902 seniors to Hud sor West Point is planned for May, date TBD.
A fifteen minute prayer service will be held on Thursdays in the Alumne Room at :10. All are invited to be present.
The Dean explains no two day vacation can be granted this Easter due to university rules and pending decisions by President Butler and the Board of Trustees. No classes will be held from Thursday to Monday, with a brief respite after Good Friday, as the calendar cannot be changed this term. Laura D. Gill signs the letter on behalf of the university.
A performance of Pinafore will be given by the Associated Clubs of the College Settlement on Friday evening April 4 at 8 oclock. The event takes place at Manhattan Lyceum 66 East 4th street with tickets 35 cents from Miss Stone 64 or Miss Goodyear 65. Proceeds aid the Settlement and Mount Ivy summer home.
Mr Paul Shimmon spoke for the Assyrian Missionary Committee to the C S M A on March 13 about supporting an Industrial Training School at Urim Persia for Assyrian girls to gain self sufficiency through Persian rug making. A scholarship costs fifty dollars for one year and donations are welcome as Shimmon plans a return visit to open the school.
In a letter to the editors the Barnard French Society explains its split from Columbia and its plan to organize plays this year. The action follows a Dean letter and aims to improve play conditions, with decisions made solely by Barnard members. Signed Amy Leavitt Hitt and TrzoporA Curtis.
Jessie Kaufmann, a member of the class of 1903, died suddenly after a short illness on Monday March 17. She was a dear friend, an earnest and high minded fellow student and an indefatigable worker for the college interests, and her loss is deeply felt.

It is requested that all members attend the regular meeting on Thursday March 27 at 12 30. A two thirds quorum is absolutely necessary.
The newly formed Literary Society remains nameless after a March 20 meeting. Several names were suggested but none gained general approval. Miss Lucy Sherman, born 1903, was elected to membership.
