The Executive Committee of Barnard College's Athletic Association reports plans to secure an alternate outdoor athletic field as tennis and open air basketball are halted due to lack of a usable campus field. Students are urged to help locate and obtain a nearby site to prevent a return to inactivity.
The Barnard discussion notes the campus has few college songs. A previous undergraduate song committee was formed to collect student compositions, but the initiative stalled due to inadequate mechanisms to manage submissions and usage.
The piece notes that many songs were not submitted for approval and only one suited for undergraduates existed. It suggests Barnard Bear and the Glee Club collaborate to create and circulate songs among the College, urging vigorous cooperation to resolve the issue.
The constitution provides for a monthly meeting where well known authors will be invited to speak. The program committee for arranging the schedule includes Miss Skinner 1903 chairman Miss Jones 1903 Miss Stone 1904 and Miss Howard 1903 ex officio.
Readers are reminded that chapel exercises at 12.30 on Tuesdays and Fridays occur in the Theater and quietness in adjacent halls is expected. Disruptive talking and noise have annoyed attendees, with doors often needing closing during services. The notice hopes for improved decorum.
Saturday evening March 22 the Philharmonic Society gave its fourth annual concert in Brinckerhoff Theatre to a full house. The Barnard Chorus and orchestra, under Gustav Hinrichs, delivered an excellent program featuring Mrs Katherine Fleming Hinrichs, J P Bangs, and a piano solo. The repertoire included Martha Overture, Summer Night, Concertstuck, Tempo di Marcia, Greeting On the Shore, Faust ballet music, Mainacht Waldlied Spinning Song and The Mill in the Forest with Barnard Chorus and Orchestra.

The Literary Society met on Tuesday March 26 and chose a name after discussion. The group adopted The Barnard Bear as its official name.
Mrs. Howard Taylor of the China Inland Mission addressed Barnard students in the Students’ Parlor on March 24. She described Chinese women's plight and argued Christianity as the path to improvement, urging student volunteers for missions. An informal evening talk at Fiske Hall covered Chinese customs and religions, noting access gained by missionaries who live among locals.
The BULLETIN reminds readers that the performance of Pinafore announced last week will take place Friday evening April 4th.
Sub committees named to run the college play programs include Eleanor Phelps 1902 chairman Jean W Miller 1903 Theo dora Curtis 1904 with tickets handled by Anna G Ware 1903 and Romola Lyon 1904.
The regular monthly meeting of the Class of 1903 will be held on Thursday April 3 with election of officers as the main business.
