New York Market Highlights Sept 17 Cotton and Flour Trends
The New York market notes limited demand and uneven prices across commodities. Cotton sales for the last three days total about 1900 bales with varied lots from Upland, Florida, Tennessee, New Orleans, and Alabama. Canal flour prices ease, with Western Canal at 9 9 25 and Ohio Erie Canal at 8 7 5, down from prior highs. Sugar shows little movement with mixed lots ranging from Porto Rico to Brazil. Foreign exchange activity includes England, France, Holland, Hamburg, and Bremen, while exports of specie reach 4726 dollars for the week.
