Runaway Negro CAR SAR Reported in Savannah River Area

Public notice from James Barton seeks aid in recovering a young enslaved man named CAR SAR, about twenty years old and five feet tall, who fled from a plantation near the Savannah River around February last. Readers are warned of legal penalties for harboring or detaining him and offered a liberal reward for delivering him to Barton or confining him in a jail.
