Runaway Negro CAR SAR sought by Georgia planter in Savannah area

Notice describes a five-foot, twenty-year-old enslaved man called CAR SAR who fled from James Barton on a plantation near the Savannah river around February. He wore a white Kersey jacket and overalls and speaks little English. Rewards offered for capture and return. harboring him will face legal penalties. Also notices about property sale, debt, and court actions from Richmond and Columbia counties with dates in 1806 1808.

Plymouth Port of Entry and Saint Marys District Provisions

An Act establishes Plymouth North Carolina as a port of entry and creates a Plymouth district including Roanoak and Cathie rivers with a Plymouth collector earning a three percent commission. The Nanjemoy district in Maryland becomes St. Marys with a surveyor at St. Marys river and Nanjemoy as a port of delivery. Augusta Maine becomes a port of delivery under Bath district with a surveyor earning 150 dollars annually.
