In October Term 1807 of the Richmond Superior Court the executors of John Rhodes deceased seek leave to sell adjoining Bedford area lands for heirs and creditors. Mary Rhodes administratrix notes a mortgage case against John Glass and Joshua Grenage. a parcel of 125 acres, part of 250 acres, mortgaged to Glass to secure $15,000, with foreclosure if not paid within twelve months. publication ordered monthly in state gazettes or service on mortgagor six months prior.
Foreclosure Rule in Elbert County 1808 Mortgage Case
In Elbert County Georgia the Superior Court in the April 1808 term orders William and William Woods executors of Middleton Woods to pay four hundred sixty four dollars plus interest within twelve months or the equity of redemption in a mortgaged tract of two hundred acres on Doves Creek will be foreclosed. Act Authorizing Treasury Payment on Certain Armstrong Bills
By authority an act directs the secretary of the treasury to pay into the comptroller’s trust fund the amount due on bills drawn by John Armstrong the U S minister to the court of France for Nathan Freres Denon and Hall and for Joseph Sends under liquidations with France. Funds held in trust to satisfy judgments by a future court and deposited in the Treasury's bank in Washington. Legal actions to recover all or part of the sums must begin by November in the Fourth District of Maryland.
