Last night about eight on lower Elm street John Ford and a second man caused a wild scene. Ford drew two big guns, forced Mrs. Beams to come with him, but she escaped. A crowd formed and deputies arrived. Ford was captured and later tried before Mayor Tilden for drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Celebration marks Presbyterian churchs 30th anniversary
The Atlantic Presbyterian church concluded its thirtieth anniversary with a six oclock supper and a Feast of Wit and Flow of Soul. Speakers included Dr. J M Emmert Prof RK Moore Miss Fannie Wilson and others praising the churchs expansion and the role of the Sunday school and women in church life. Remarks extended greetings from Rev Hill and Stated Clerk A L Sarchet with letters from Mrs Hughes and Mrs Thayer showing regret at not attending.
