Presbyterian Day at Atlantic Church Thirty Years Celebrated
The Atlantic church marked its thirtieth anniversary with elaborate yesterday services. Rev Dr Stephen Phelps of Omaha preached a morning sermon on The Exaltation of Christ, praising Christ’s humiliation and exaltation. Special music featured a fifteen-voice chorus, solos, and duets. Afternoon activities included Junior Endeavor rally and Christian Endeavor services followed by another sermon on Presbyterianism in the evening.

Americans Advance Near La Loma Church Ambush
Insurgents opened fire near La Loma church four miles from central Manila and withdrew after an hour of exchange. American forces, including the Twenty-fifth Infantry, used trenches and artillery at 1200 yards, with one American wounded. General Schwan's column then advanced toward San Francisco de Malabon, meeting little resistance and incurring no casualties.
