First Ice Railway Accident At Fair On Midway
A serious midfair accident on the ice railway leaves one dead and several injured. The train of three sleds broke on a curve, two sleds jumped the track, railing was broken, and occupants were hurled to the ground. Rescue ambulances ferried victims to Columbian hospital and other facilities. Richmond died, Ayres and Jacobs severely hurt, others injured but likely to survive. The incident may curb ice railway ventures and blames officials for permitting unsafe testing.
