British Beat Germans in Central Africa Action in Nyassaland

London reports British troops defeated a German force of about four hundred in Nyassaland British Central Africa. The German loss included seven officers killed and two wounded, with multiple machines and field guns captured. British casualties among whites were four killed with several wounded. The engagement at Kerongi near Lake Nyassa ended after a day of intense fighting and bayonet charges, with Germans later driven toward the Songwe river before pursuit faded.
