Southern railway head predicts strong southeast revival
W W Finley, president of the Southern Railway, says the cotton textile mills have recovered from the trade slump and that the South is seeing growth across cotton, tobacco, timber iron ore and other raw materials. He notes farmers diversifying crops, increasing livestock and dairying, and plans to move toward localized manufacture. Peach and apple movements are rising with five to six thousand carloads of peaches expected.
