Wife of Dead Minister Involved in Millwood Tragedy
Waycross Ga May 13 Special. When Rev C G Bennett was killed today at Millwood by Carrey Bennett divorce actions filed in Ware County were abruptly dropped. The Bennetts had long stood in conflict over alleged relations with C O Bennett's wife. Mrs Bennett had not visited Millwood until today. Carrey Bennett arrived by train from Kirkland aiding the deadly fight. Eye witnesses say C O Bennett fired first, bullets injuring J W Murray the agent, Sam Murray and an 8 year old boy. Carrey Bennett was shot in the left hand and grazed in the breast. Carrey Bennett, 20, is a cousin of the deceased, a four year Baptist minister. His last letter to his wife urged her not to return. Carrey Bennett was arrested near Millwood and taken to Waycross.
