Valdosta Ga May 17 Special Canton Griffin a local nominee for ordinary of Lowndes county fell from a boat and drowned or died of heart failure while fishing at Thomas pond seven miles south of Valdosta. Rev T Thomas of Valdosta assisted and helped save Griffin but exhaustion forced him to release the body. Griffin's body was recovered at 2 am and brought home. He leaves a young wife and three children. Funeral arrangements pending.
