Government cannot be liable for medical treatment negligence
In Washington July an injured man, Ole B Suwart, an Okanagan reclamation service employee, was told he has no redress from the government after a physician under a government contract treated him at Good Samaritan hospital. The comptroller of the treasury ruled that the United States is not liable for a contractor's agents' negligence and that the contract does not guarantee due care by government employees. The alleged wrong was committed by the agent, not the government.
