In a packed Georgia House session, tension rose as Alexander of DeKalb accused Anderson of Chatham of planning a filibuster to block a prohibition bill and 9 o clock meeting changes. In a letter to Senator W H Burwell, Governor Smith denies knowing of Athena street railroad bonds at the time of McLendon’s suspension. He states there was no conference to suppress bond references, and asserts no conclusive evidence of McLendon’s bond dealings reached him before the suspension or in his legislative message. After talks Briand formed a new French ministry and met President Fallieres at ten tonight. Abra Rhodes aged 17 a Constitution route boy from 35 East Twelfth street drowned at the Boys Club camp on Silver Lake twelve miles from Atlanta. Superintendent George C Dorr sprang into the water in an attempt to save him but Rhodes sank before aid could reach him. A searching party and dragging poles comb the lake bottom as night falls. Rhodes had gone to the camp for a swim, undressed and left clothes in a tent. He dove from a boat into water eight plus feet deep and misjudged the depth. The camp erupted in sorrow as the rescue attempt began and Dorr coordinated the search efforts remaining at the scene.
