Wabash Train Wreck After Flood Destroys Tracks Five Cars Plunge
Kansas City July 25 Six lives lost and several seriously hurt when Wabash passenger train No. 4 plunged into the swollen Missouri river thirty miles east of Kansas City. Five cars and the engine were swept away as flood undermined fifty feet of track. Passengers describe the dramatic collapse and frantic escapes while Dr. Turner Lohreck provided immediate care to twenty seven injured.

Rivalry between M Bleriot and Hubert Latham over crossing the English Channel heated. Latham flew Calais to sea for ten miles before a steering fault caused a fall into water. he escaped unharmed. It is said to have achieved over 190 knots an hour against a required 17% knots. Auto Hits Train Near Savannah injures three
Three men in an automobile cruising at about 35 miles per hour collided with a Seaboard Air Line engine near Savannah on July 26. Judson suffered multiple injuries including possible internal trauma, Rabey and Claten were badly bruised and cut. The crash occurred when both vehicles approached a grade crossing from opposite directions.

Dover, England celebrated as Louis Bleriot lands his small monoplane on English soil after crossing the Channel from Calais in under a half hour. The 87 year old French aviator, with wife and friends aboard a torpedo boat destroyer nearby, was greeted by two compatriots and local onlookers.
