J T Holleman cashier at the Bank of Anderson fled Sunday with an estimated 335000 to 335000 of bank funds after losing 3600 in cotton futures. He directed that all property be turned over to bank officials as officials, with the bank stating its surplus remains intact and only a small portion of the loss affected the institution.
In Butler Pennsylvania the four day strike at Standard Steel Car Company tied up the works with 3500 workers returning to duties tomorrow. Rev Father F Beczowski of the Polish Catholic church helped broker a partial victory for both sides and twenty three jailed men are to be released on nominal bail.
Paris reports a sudden cabinet collapse after a fierce debate on naval scandals spanning days. Detcasse led attacks on Pelletan and Thoms, with Clemenceau taunted over 1905 Algeciras links. Delcasse defended records as Clemenceau pressed harsher charges, ending in resignation and President Fallieres accepting the government’s fall.
Four cars of an Atlantic Coast Line excursion train turned over five miles north of Qaata at noon while traveling 30 miles an hour. Two men were badly injured, and several others bruised or cut by flying glass. Edward Smith suffered a crushed and broken arm Oscar Kinnabrew's leg was mashed and will likely be amputated. Chicago July 20 William Wayne Balvin, ejected from James A Patten's office, claimed residency in New York and presidency of the Port Angels and Eastern railroad. He was discharged with a warning by Municipal Judge Fake after admitting a recent $500,000 loss in speculation.
Orville Wright piloted the aeroplane for one hour twenty minutes forty five seconds at Fort Myer, flying about 70 miles and reaching heights near 280 feet. The display included three figure eights and multiple oval circuits before landing, witnessed by cabinet members and thousands.

He was strung up at Gum Branch as deputies watched, while Miss Nicholson and another woman fled with their horse. In Paris Tenn a mob killed Albert Lawson after attempts to lynch him at the jail. officials urged the law be allowed to take its course. Argentina orders Bolivian minister to quit Buenos Aires amid border dispute tensions as Bolivians seek enlistment and Peru and Argentina residents flee Bolivia.
New York July 20 Kuhn Loeb Co bought from Union Pacific Ranrosd Company all or practically all of the $10,000,000 Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe stock purchased in 1906 The stock priced at $103.95 a share was acquired reportedly to pay a 4 percent dividend and to avoid temal e complications and legal suits surrounding the Union Pacific holdings
Central of Georgia passenger train No 11 wrecked at Glenwood Alabama 101 miles from Columbus. Baggage car jumped track, coaches rolled over. Engine off rails. Several passengers injured but none killed. Conductor J R Jones among the injured. Wrecking train dispatched to scene.
In Cincinnati on July 20 Judge Lurton ordered the receivership of the Cincinnati Harilton and Dayton Railway Company lifted. Governor Harmon, 48, relieved of duty while the court retains jurisdiction over the railway property and business amid a pending investigation of intervening petitioners and various claims.
In Albany Georgia at the St Nicholas hotel last night Sheriff L H Glenn Wilcox county and G B McDuffey Leary marshal were arrested on warrants charging assault carrying a concealed weapon assault with intent to murder and gambling. Several others including A S McLendon W R Beazly D B Motley and Charley Daniel were later arrested on gambling warrants. Glenn and McDuffey dispute the incident claiming McDuffey grabbed money and Glenn fired. McDuffey says he was shot at with a pistol. All bonds posted for the next term. Snyder arrested in Macon on gambling ties to a bloody Albany poker game and identified by diamonds. He claims Chicago as home.
Richmond Ky July 20 Imprisonment for life and ten years extra was pronounced today on Berry Simpson Elisha Slavin and George Stanley by United States District Judge Cochran. The men were convicted of murdering a federal deputy marshal on Christmas day 1908. The ten year term covers alleged disobedience of a federal injunction in the winning controversy. Iver Slavin and Jesse Simpson were sentenced to three and five years respectively for disobedience of strike order. The sentences were to Atlanta federal prison.
Washington July 20. The tariff bill moved from congress to the white house amid conferees bickering. Senator Aldrich and Speaker Cannon consulted with President Taft while Payne fought to limit minority influence. A clash with Fordney surfaced as Payne protested a lumber vote amid disputes over conferee selections and leadership influence.
A forecast for Georgia calls for generally fair conditions on Wednesday and Thursday. Moderate east winds are expected with no precipitation mentioned.
