Roberts Favors Less Councilmen In Atlanta Government

Alderman Roberts from the eighth ward backs Alderman Hertcoen's plan to downsize the city council and boards. He argues twenty seven councillors and growing boards hinder swift governance, proposing one councilman per ward, five city at large aldermen, and five members per board to streamline operations and reduce overlap. He notes support from several council members and that Hancock’s proposal will go to the charter revision committee for a formal vote next Monday.
