Burglary Youth Turns Stolen Gold Into Sunday School Gift
Louis Green, a youth linked to a burglary at Dr Dunhar Hoy’s Peachtree Street home, is found to have dropped a $5 gold piece into the St Luke Episcopal Sunday school collection the Sabbath after the crime. Kept as a class hero by classmates, Green’s conscience appears to have moved him to give the ill gotten gain to the very place he attended. The incident, noted by the Sunday school treasurer, shows a remarkable two day arc from theft to religion with a portion of stolen gold enriching the church collection.
