Hamilton Family Relates Exit from New Orleans Exposition to Texas Trip
Betsy Hamilton narrates a humorous travel tale from New Orleans to Texas with the Slack family. The narrator details farewells, a steamboat crossing, comic misadventures with bags of vittles, and the lively gathering in Dallas, including mentions of Main and Elm streets and a bustling depot scene. The piece blends dialect humor with travel anecdote and family dynamics as they plan onward to Texas.
