Proposes New Bill Select Judiciary At Next Session
Atlanta May 6 The principal reason for lax enforcement of state laws, says Representative Frank L Hanson, is the human element in the judiciary through election by the people. A reform bill by Representative Manson would remove judges and solicitors from politics by a two stage appointment and senate ratification. The plan uses five nominations per circuit for judges and solicitors general, with the governor making appointments after senate approval. The system aims to curb executive machine influence and to rotate judges in state service, with support from prominent attorneys. The Grand Chenier Wild Life Refuge in Louisiana, a 35 000 acre tract, was donated by the Rockefeller Foundation to remain a perpetual wild life preserve. Representative Reece is 31, young by congressional standards, with the prior youngest member McCleod at 25.
