William James Jr., declared a fanatic days ago, will be sent to the Milledgeville asylum once Ordinary Wingfield receives the institution’s notice that there is space. He is currently in the county jail and in desperate health, with risk to his life if kept free.
An old enslaved woman in Georgia receives compassionate care from her former master as memories of Long and the discovery of anesthesia resurface.
