East Athens church rescinds member use for alleged preacher R A Wright
Last night East Athens Baptist Church formally repealed its acceptance of R A Wright as a member after investigations showed the letter from Park Avenue Baptist Church in Norfolk Va was forged and Wright could not be located to offer a defense. The church learned the signer on the document was not the real clerk and no such man had belonged to that Norfolk church for years. Wright and his wife had moved to the city recently and were staying at a Foundry Street boarding house while investigators pursued the claim. The church voted to rescind the membership action and Wright could not be reached for a statement.
