The Athens Savings Bank in Athens Georgia on July 17 1902 received fifty dollars from Tar Banner to be paid to prize winners upon properly certified vouchers by judges J F Rhodes A H Davison and W F Dorsey.
The contest offers eighteen prizes for correctly counting dots in a puzzle. Patrons pay a subscription for the paper and send their count at no extra cost. Judges J F Rhodes A H Davison and W F Dorsey will decide and certify the results, with final, binding rulings and prize payouts ordered by the judges through Mr Colburn.

The U S Court at Athens will sit in Deupree hall this November while a new building is finished. An agreement had provided a temporary court room, but a recent congressional appropriation of $1000 frees the city and county from that obligation. The hall will be repaired and fitted as a courtroom by November.
President J Y Onarithers of the Northeast Georgia Fair Association calls a directors meeting at Dorsey and Funkenstein’s at 3 PM and a citizens mass at city hall at 6 PM to decide on fall entertainment. Directors may postpone the fall fair to next year and Elks may take over amusement duties for a street fair or carnival in October. The Banner supports citywide efforts for a street event to back Athens agriculture and business interests.
Miss Sallie Tuck, bitten by a moccasin near Tuckston on Wednesday, shows marked improvement. Physicians believe the bite will not be fatal as antidotes take effect, though she remains very weak from the poison. Acts Immediately, remedies for coughs and colds are advertised by The Orr Drugstore.
The erection of the new Plant of the Southern Manufacturing has begun with the foundation brick to be laid soon marking a key industrial expansion in the area. Local officials anticipate job creation and boosted commerce as construction proceeds.
