Wreckage of the Old Glory monoplane is described from the Kyle reports with thirty four feet of wing and three full fuel tanks, plus glass gauges. The engine and fuselage are torn from the wing and the crew of Loyd Bertaud J D Hill and Philip Payne are missing. Sea conditions are rough and foggy as searches continue.
Chicago reports the 75,000 member Illinois bituminous coal strike talks failed after a week of daily sessions. Operators and miners adjourned sine die without ground gained, with both sides unwilling to retreat from final positions and no new negotiation date set. The dispute began last April over the Jacksonville wage scale and direct talks were blocked by the national policy boards.
Glouster Ohio news reports a miners relief mass meeting planned after a committee returned from discussions with Governor Donahey. The group says no resentment toward the governor exists but Ohio mine workers leaders Lee Hall and G W Savage are to be invited to explain their Monday conference actions viewed as blocking aid for destitute miners in the Corning, Glouster and Chauncey districts.
Four non union miners at the Tasa mine near Cadiz were attacked by two autos load of strikers or sympathizers on the way to work near the Rose Valley coal mine. None seriously hurt. Authorities found no assailants or crowd. Rose Valley mine had shipped coal by non union workers the day before.

Detectives hunt two bandits who bound gagged and robbed two men late yesterday in the Sinton hotel Cincinnati. One man was threatened with a pistol as the robbers fled with valuables. No injuries reported.

Vern Hutchinson of Nelsonville sustained a sprained ankle a broken bone in the right foot and a sprained bruised back while Asberry McCombs of Nelsonville suffered a sprained ankle. Both were taken home for treatment after the accident at the mine near the kilns of the brick company.
