The Lester Little farm pond on 13 Mile Creek near Arbuckle was rebuilt after rodents washed out the fill and caused a V-notch. Western Soil Conservation District crews repaired the fill and installed a pipe overflow to restore normal water flow.

U S Representative Clarence Miller urged the Office of Coal Research to consider Southeastern Ohio for a proposed experimental coal gasification plant.
