Locals cheer Athens graduate Burrow as Buckeye debut
Athens High School product Joe Burrow scored his first OSU touchdown in a 77 10 win over Bowling Green State University. The 6 8 passer went 6 8 for 68 yards in his debut as a backup while teammate Demario McCall added a 36 yard TD run and a 16 yard score. The day set an OSU offensive yardage record as 776 total yards were amassed with 107 000 fans in attendance. Burrow’s supporters include his mother Robin Burrow and longtime Athens figures Bill Luehrman and John L Gordon who praise his impact on Buckeye Nation and Athens Bulldog fans.
