County Board Again Is Fiscal Agent For Adult Education
The Athens County Board of Education will serve as fiscal agent for the county adult basic education program again this year. The board met Saturday and decided to keep the program in the central county office. Last year 73 adults enrolled in high school equivalency classes. State funds total about 9 000 dollars this year, and county funds amount to 18 709.09 dollars after fixed costs and upcoming obligations. The board is reconciling books with the county auditor to fix discrepancies. The county board also reversed a prior transfer of Title I equipment to Tri County Vocational School and will allow Shade Elementary School principal William Elmore access to some equipment. Board President Clyde Pratt to rescind the transfer decision.
