Marion Moore age 9 died Thursday at the home of his daughter Mrs. Frank Sapp in Harrisonville. He was among the few Meigs County Civil War veterans left. Survived by seven children including Charles Ranzo and Arthur of Pomery, Mia Philip Reibel, Mrs. Frank Sapp, and John Earl of Akron. Funeral Saturday at 2 pm at the Moore residence on Union Avenue with Rev. F I Gardner officiating. Burial in Howell Hill Cemetery.
Seattle authorities hold Leo Hall 33 after a woman’s confession linked him to a March 1934 mass killing at a gay house party on Erland Point. The alleged crime involved robbery and multiple deaths as Hall and an accomplice allegedly masked, shot, stabbed, or beat victims including Mr and Mrs Flieder and guests Eugene Chenvert Magnus Jordan Ezra Bolcom.
Gas from a broken main exploded in the Goose Creek archway between Main and Hunter Streets on Thursday while workers cleaned debris from the causeway. A heavy vehicle is believed to have ruptured the line and a gas pocket ignited by a light used by the crew. The gas burned until the main could be shut off and repairs made. Foreman Clarence Guest led the cleaning crew.
Michael A. Dunigan of Columbus dies. native of Middleport Ohio, he managed Lima and Akron clubs in the old Ohio State Baseball League and served with the internal revenue service for 35 years.
Gil bert Jacobs aged 75 was found dead in his home on Union Avenue Friday morning. He ran a small dairy and is survived by his wife and son Pearl of Laurel Cliff. Funeral arrangements have not been set.
Kenneth C. Ray Athens County superintendent of schools was elected chairman for the 1936 Schoolmen's Dinner after last night's speaking program at Hotel Berry. Also noted were new officers of the School Mistresses' group and remarks on hiring standards for Ohio teachers.

Noble County man Mike Warhola fled a burning automobile near Glouster on Wednesday and identified himself to the Athens State Highway Patrol Substation. He pled guilty to fictitious tags and paid 15 dollars and costs, but pleaded not guilty to reckless driving and was bound over to the grand jury on 150 dollar bond after his car struck five wooden posts before bursting into flames.
Urbana Champaign County farmers protested WPA projects saying they would rather have workers on government jobs than husk corn. They told WPA engineer Roger Proctor that starting projects in rural areas could delay corn harvest as women currently farm laborers could quit to join WPA work.
