Fight Brings Strike at Gavin Plant Cheshire
A work stop at Ohio Electric Co. Gavin Plant in Cheshire began Thursday after an altercation over a dispute between two Delta-Jackson Co. employees, the main contractor for the 2.6 million kilowatt station under construction since March 1971. Both workers were terminated, one returning with an information sign alleging unjust termination as 1,600 craft workers honored the protest and did not report to work. Delta-Jackson seeks a prompt resolution so the men may return to work.
