Debutante Wallis Warfield in Baltimore Then and Now
Laura Brookman traces Wallis Warfield’s rise from a 1914 debutante at the Bachelor’s Cotillion in Baltimore to her marriage to Lt. Earl Winfield Spencer Jr. and eventual divorce. The piece outlines family ties to Warfield ancestors, schooling at Arundel, and early romance in Florida before war era constraints influenced social duties. Wallis later became Mrs. Ernest Simpson of London, with her story linked to royal circles.
