Fire Damages Richland Avenue Home In Monday Morning Blaze

Neighbors forced entry to the Matheny home on Richland Avenue after a fire started in the kitchen from a hot flue pipe and spread to a bedroom. The fire caused about 250 dollars in damage before the fire department contained it. Fire Chief E R Laughlin reported the house was unoccupied at the time. Firefighters used chemicals to extinguish remaining flames and some damage occurred from the extinguishing agents.

Relief Funds Support Ohio Farm Resettlement Project

Presidentially allocated relief funds will finance rural resettlement projects in Ohio. Grants will complete Scioto Farms in Ross Fayette and Pickaway counties moving farmers to fertile land. The total amount is undetermined but drawn from a $20 million allocation to 57 projects of this type.
