Leg Cut Off By Coal Train Near Millfield
In Chauncey yards near Millfield Edwardt Yeager track foreman and Edmonson a railroad worker were struck by a coal train on a speeder just before midnight. Edmonson lost a left foot above the ankle and had scalp wounds. Yeager suffered a severe knee injury. They were taken to Channery, Edmonson to a Columbus hospital. Runaway Horse Incident Injures 15 Year Old Driver
Clem Bark of Buckeys grocery narrowly escaped serious injury when frightened horses driven by Bark ran away after delivering groceries on University Terrace. Bark, age 15, stayed in the wagon to steer toward Court Street, where the team sped by crowded traffic. The tongue and front wheels detached near Campbell's mill, throwing Bark to the ground, but he escaped with a severe shaking.
