D M Black a 4s brakeman on the Baltimore and Ohio was crushed between a freight car and the platform Friday evening in Athens. He died about an hour later from crushed ribs and chest injuries. Funeral Sunday at Zaleski with services by the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. He was to be promoted to conductor Saturday. Black leaves a wife and child.

Gasoline Tank Exploded During Roof Work on Court Street
While workmen roofed the new Cline building on Court Street on Saturday, a gasoline tank used to heat tar exploded and set the roof on fire. The blaze was quickly controlled and caused no serious damage beyond a brief scare.

In Coolville on November 9 the Troy Grange No 905 ladies raised an estimated forty to fifty dollars to improve their hall.
