Two Women Injured in Runaway Accident
Mrs Charles Perry and Mrs Eunice Patterson were badly bruised and shaken after a runaway below the children's home. The horse bolted, the buggy was smashed, and the injured women were cared for at Mrs Patterson's University Terrace home in Athens.

Death of Mrs Flowers in Calumbi at fifty five
Mrs. Z W Flowers died Friday at her home in Calumbi at the age of fifty five. Funeral services were held Monday at her late home and interment was in Winchester. Born in Meigs County she lived for years in Carthage township and later moved with her husband to Columns. Attending the service were Mr and Mrs C J Flowers of Athens.

Civil War Veteran James Cart Passes Away At Home
James Cart, born Cadiz June 1852, died Saturday at his Richland Avenue home near the Athena state hospital from a complication of diseases. A Civil War veteran, he served in Wampgang J 2nd O Y V under Colonel Van Vorhes, later under Captain Augustus Dickey, mustered out in Washington, D. C. after three years. He married Maria Beal in 1853, had six children, four living. He was a plasterer by trade, in frail health for years, funeral conducted by Rev. G Walter King, interment Bassett Cemetery.
