A new bank named Peoples Bank will open in July in Point Pleasant. R B Rothgeb is president, Forest Clark vice president, with a board including P A Sayre Ray Epperly Carl Fruth and William J Marcum. Argyle R Kauffman was named executive vice president and cashier. The bank will operate from the former Point Pleasant Building and Loan at Fifth and Viand Streets with charter approval by the state and FDIC membership. Total capitalization is 240000 dollars with 6000 shares at 40 dollars each.

Gallia volunteers respond with six firefighters and two trucks to a Pleas ant Hill School Road brush blaze at 2 50 p m Wednesday. They were diverted en route when notified the fire was under control. Rife Named Director For Head Start In Gallia County
Principal Walter W. Rife of Chesire-Kegger Elementary will direct the Gallia County Head Start program serving about 450 children. The plan covers 13 sites from June 28 to August 20 with free lunches and transportation, one teacher per 15 children, and a six day OSU workshop for staff. The program awaits Gov Rhodes’s signature to become effective.

Clarence D. and Velma L. Swain file in Gallia County Common Pleas Court seeking 2045.49 plus 6 percent interest from Nov 15, 1964 for coal mined under a Harrison Township lease. Defendants are Maxine H. McBee Paul H. Taylor and Robert E. Ault. Six Children Examined at Gallia Well Child Clinic
Dr. Francis W. Shane county health commissioner examined six children Wednesday at the Gallia County Health Department monthly well child clinic. Two were referred for further diagnosis by their family physician. Dr. Shane will run the tuberculosis and health association chest clinic next Wednesday in the courthouse basement offices. A 16 year old New Marshfield Route 1 boy was picked up by police at 12 45 am Tuesday for curfew violation and held overnight.
