Brown declines Citizens Ticket name for city clerk

Campaign heats up in Point Pleasant as Republican nominee John E. Brown refuses to appear on the Citizens Party ballot for city clerk. The party had endorsed Brown after C. D. Ball’s death, but Brown cites fairness to other candidates and loyalty to his party as reasons to stay off the Citizens slate. Ball’s death prompts union of party leaders and a long ballot discussion. The election, set for May 19, sees ballots prepared with a blank Citizens line. A marriage notice follows, announcing the June 8 wedding of Lt Eleanor Louise Bentz and Sgt Robert Phelps Clark in Atlanta Georgia.
