A fragmented church notices Mother's Day services across denominations. Presbyerian, Methodist, Episcopal, Nazarene, and Catholic congregations plan sermons and music honoring mothers. Programs include speaker Dr Adams and various pastors with plans for Bible school, vesper services, and youth activities amid spring retreat themes.
Wil will preach at the Second Baptist Church this Sunday. The public is invited to attend the service and hear the message.
The May 12 Lesson-Sermon on Adam and Fallen Man will be read at the Athens Church of Christ Scientist. The golden text from John 3 14 15 and the citation from Matthew 5 8 accompany a passage from Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. In the afternoon at 2 30 Coolville reads plans for a memorial home coming at Carthage Presbyterian Church.
Two Glouster churches plan Mother's Day programs led by church groups with special services at 10 o'clock in the Church of Christ and Nazarene worship times in Glouster Athens The Plains and Clarks Chapel list morning sermons prayer meetings and youth pageants featuring local youths and pastors delivering messages on Modern Tongues in the Light of Scripture and honoring mothers.
The Rev. Miles E. Hoon of New Marshfield will deliver three Mother's Day sermons titled The Historians of Infant Days. He presides at a united service 10 a.m. in New Marshfield, 2 p.m. in Alfbine near Albany, and Sunday night in Millfield. The Millfield and New Marshfield services include men presenting program features with special music and decorations.
The Middleport First Baptist Church schedules 10:15 a m sermon by Rev. F C Kreager on The Background of a Great Man. Sunday School at 9:15 a m with L D Diles superintendent. Evening service at 7:30 with The Long Suffering God theme. Prayer meeting at 7:30 Wednesday.
The Richland Avenue M P Sunday School plans a Mother's Day program during the Sunday School hour with special musical numbers by the men and a Mother’s Day pageant “An Idea Home” in the evening. Heath M E Church will hold a special Mother’s Day service with music and a sermon by Rev Clarence Swearingen. Ralph Pritts of Glouster visited his parents in Chauncey last Friday.
Haydenville and surrounding towns announce a morning baptism and new member reception led by Rev G C Nutter. Evening preaching 7 30 by Rev Ray Green. other congregations list Sunday School 9 30, leagues, and special services May 14 7 30 p m social, with Murray City and Buchtel hosting sessions and Mother's Day planning.
Nelsonville churches plan Mother's Day services on May 12 with programs at the Christian, Presbyterian, and Pilgrim Holiness churches. The Christian Church schedules Bible School at 9:30, sermon at 10:30, and evening services at 7:30 with a 7:30 prayer meeting. Presbyterian Church plans 10:30 service with no evening worship. Pilgrim Holiness Church opens 9:30 with sermons at 11 and an evening 7:30 program, plus 7:30 Wednesday prayer and a Friday cottage meeting.
