Washington May 7 The United States Secret Service has shut down a pipeline that allowed private interests to obtain advance information on treasury financing and monetary steps. Secretary Morgenthau ordered officials to stop discussing policy with outsiders and the service tracked and halted the leaks.
In Columbus a reported plea by Harry Pierpont, doomed Dillinger associate, asks John Dillinger to come to Ohio Penitentiary to kill the warden. The warden said the request came from Pierpont during a visit by his mother and was overheard by a guard.
Harold Barstow a two year old son of Margaret Barstow suffered a left leg fracture and a minor cut after an automobile crash near Belpre on Saturday night. His father Ray Clark and passenger Ray Mahan suffered minor injuries. all are Ohio University students who had attended a Memorial Auditorium play. Barstow was taken to White Cross Hospital in Columbus.
