Ohio Valley Railway Eyes Alternative Route From Athens
The Ohio Valley railway company formed with Marietta capital aims to build a 87 mile traction line from Marietta to Bellaire but landowners demand high prices delaying rights of way. With owners resistant the company considers abandoning the route and a rep visited Athens to evaluate a line from Athens to Pomeroy as a possible substitute. D A Cameron of Pittsburgh backs the project along with Marietta interests.
