Local pastors announce a weekend program of worship and activities across Athens churches. Services feature sermons on War and common faith themes, plus Holy Communion, choir selections, student classes, and evening vesper discussions led by professors and church leaders.
Clarks Chapel now holds worship on Sunday mornings with Sunday School at 10 and preaching at WM. A preaching service is scheduled for Sunday May 6.

Wednesday prayer at 7 30 and a Nazarene church meeting series led by Rev C H Zipker starts Sunday lasting two weeks with special music. Dr Stark of First Baptist to preach at 9 30 in Simpson M E Church Pompey. Board of Stewards meets after Sunday School. no evening service.
In Hebbardsville the Sunday School hour shifts from morning to afternoon to boost attendance. The spring opening is set for 1 30 Sunday with Mrs. Irene Chesser leading the primary department and inviting local children to attend.

In Stewart on May 4 the New England Presbyterian Sunday School reports April average attendance of three. Regular teachers include E A Spaulding O O Bryson Miss Grace Dodds and Mrs Maggie Davis. Sunday schedule lists 9 30 Sunday School with singing by J H Grosvenor and piano by Miss Nellie Bean 10 30 preaching by Rev I T Spencer and Mrs I T Spencer to teach Helping Hands classes for youths.
The Athens Church of Christ, Scientist will read a Lesson-Sermon on Everlasting Punishment this Sunday. Golden Text asks if the Judge of all the earth will do right, and Galatians 6 7 warns that what a man sows he reaps. The church cites Eddy’s Science and Health noting sin punishes itself.

Rev H E Warner will deliver the sermon Ladder to the Light at Carthage Presbyterian Church Sunday at 2 30 pm The service follows a good attendance on April 22 when the regular schedule resumed and Warner began his fifth year as pastor of the church.
