The Beaumont and Chauncey Coal Company at Chauncey, Ohio, shuts down Friday after a receiver, Harry B. Arnold of Columbus, is appointed. The Columbus Mill and Mine Supply company sues for about 8487, but assets and liabilities are each around 1,60,000. President William Job and Secretary Treasurer Theodore Huntington run the operation. Benjamin Hill oversees the property to guard against water damage and to restart the mine soon. Fined Three Dollars After Glassy Night in Athens
S P Morris of Glowner visited Athens on Saturday and drank liquor stronger than expected. He became unmanageable and was placed in jail by Marshal Finsterward. Morris later walked to Mayor Davis and paid a three dollar fine plus costs, then returned to the city.

Ten Dollars Ten Days For Glouster Shoplifting
Mrs. Kate Evans of Glouster was jailed in Athens Friday evening for ten days on a shoplifting charge. She admitted taking several yards of silk and other goods from B S Rothman and was fined ten dollars by Esquire Frank Bryson, then sentenced to ten days and held until costs are paid. She is about forty, with a living husband.

Clifton Coe Dies of Heart Failure at Moonville Depot
Clifton Coe, fifty three, died suddenly Thursday evening at the Moonville depot in Moonville near Mineral, Vinton county. He collapsed on the platform while talking with friends. physicians were called but he expired instantly from heart failure. He leaves a wife and several children. He was well known in western Athens county.

Counterfeiting ring tied to cigars and stamps unearthed
