Kennedy OK's 100000 For Salt Creek Project
President Kennedy includes 100000 in the budget for planning and land acquisition of the Salt Creek Reservoir flood control project in Scioto Conservancy District. If approved by Congress, construction could start in about two years. The dam would be 96 feet high and 1490 feet long, near Londonderry, with a 890 acre permanent pool and a 4425 acre flood control pool. Land purchases would occur over two years affecting 14 miles of roads, three cemeteries, and utilities.
