Air Force Staff Sgt William K Rose son of Mrs Margaret E Rose of 223 Railroad Ave Logan has graduated with honors from the Air Force Systems Command NCC Academy at Kirtland AFB NM. Sergeant Rose is a computer maintenance technician at Kirtland and a 1965 Logan High School graduate who attended the University of Albuquerque. Airman Howard W Hanson son of Mr and Mrs Harold W Hanson of 689 N Second Ave Middleport has been assigned to Lowry AFB Colorado after completing Air Force basic training at Lackland AFB Texas. He is a 1972 Meigs High School graduate and his wife Vicki is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry E Clark of Pomeroy Route 2. Army Pfc Mark W Shaver 18 son of Carlos W Shaver and Wanda J Shaver of Millfield Route 1 recently was assigned to the 45th Air Defense Artillery Brigade at Ft Sheridan Illinois. Private Shaver entered the Army in October 1971, completed basic training at Ft Knox Kentucky, and was last stationed at Ft Bliss Texas. He is a 1971 Athens High School graduate. Dan O’Neal grandson of Mr and Mrs John Creamer of Coolville and a 1971 graduate from Federal Hocking High School has been assigned to the 101st Airborne Division US Army as part of the 1st Btn 503d Airborne Infantry. O’Neal received paratrooper training at Fort Benning Georgia and is a former employee of Parkersburg National Bank.

Driver Injured On Route 664
Joseph Barcus 22 of Logan was injured when his car was forced off Route 664 on a curve, then went up an embankment. He suffered facial and back injuries and was taken to Hocking Valley Community Hospital by SECEMS.
